Police Officer Testing
The Zion Board of Fire and Police Commissioners conducts competitive testing for entry-level, sworn, full-time police positions and establishes an appointment eligibility list every two years in accordance with the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners, Chapter 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/10-2.1-1 et seq.
Eligibility: Applicants must be under 35 years of age at the time of application and at the time the final eligibility list is posted, unless exempt as provided in Section 5/10-2.1-6 of the Fire and Police Commissioner’s Act. The minimum age at the time of application is 21.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and possess a valid driver’s license.
