Online Police Forms (Frontline PSS)

The following requests can be submitted online through the City’s Police Services Portal:

  • Over Night Parking Request
    Provide the details of your vehicle and where it will be parked overnight. This ensures your vehicle is listed in the database and not ticketed.
  • Vacation Watch Request
    Submit details of your property and the dates you will be away. Your home will be added to the list of vacation watches for officers to check (as time permits).
  • Keyholder Registration
    Register or update your business or property keyholder information so officers have accurate contact details in the event of an emergency or alarm response.

Temporary Road Closure Permit

Download Application To temporarily close a city street for an event, a Temporary Road Closure Permit is required. There is a $5/day fee for each permit.
  • Closures are allowed only from dawn to dusk.
  • Approval signatures from all affected neighbors are required.
  • Applications must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the event.

Sound Amplifier License

Download Application To operate a loudspeaker or amplifier audible over a public street or area, a Sound Amplifier License is required.
  • $15/day for residents
  • $50/day for businesses
  • No fee for non-profit organizations

Solicitor Permit

For-Profit Application | Not-for-Profit Application It is unlawful to engage in solicitation or transient retail sales within Zion without first obtaining a Solicitor Permit.
  • $30/day or $140/year (includes up to five solicitors per business)
  • $30 for each additional solicitor
  • Applicants must submit to fingerprinting by the Police Department
  • A certificate of insurance or bond must also be provided

If you witness an officer acting outside our mission or values, please complete a Citizen’s Complaint Form. After notarizing, submit the form to the Zion Police Department. A notary public is available on-site Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

FOIA Request Form

The City of Zion adheres to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1), allowing inspection of public records while protecting exempt information.

  • Requests must be submitted in writing to the City Clerk (via mail, fax, email, or delivery).
  • The City will respond within 5 business days of receipt (21 days for commercial requests).
  • No charge for the first 50 pages of standard copies; $0.15/page thereafter.
  • Larger format copies are charged at reproduction cost.
Copies will be provided in the requested medium whenever possible.
