The following requests can be submitted online through the City’s Police Services Portal:

Temporary Road Closure Permit

Download Application

A Temporary Road Closure Permit is required to close a city street for an event. There is a $5/day fee.

  • Closures allowed from dawn to dusk
  • Approval from all affected neighbors required
  • Applications due at least 2 weeks prior

Sound Amplifier License

Download Application

A Sound Amplifier License is required for amplified sound audible over public areas.

  • $15/day for residents
  • $50/day for businesses
  • No fee for non-profit organizations

Solicitor Permit

For-Profit Application | Not-for-Profit Application

A Solicitor Permit is required before engaging in solicitation or transient retail sales.

  • $30/day or $140/year (up to 5 solicitors)
  • $30 for each additional solicitor
  • Fingerprinting required
  • Insurance certificate or bond required

Citizen Complaint Form

Complaints must be notarized and submitted to the Zion Police Department. A notary is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

FOIA Request Form

  • Requests must be submitted in writing
  • Responses within 5 business days (21 for commercial)
  • No fee for first 50 pages; $0.15/page thereafter
  • Large format copies charged at reproduction cost

Records will be provided in the requested medium whenever possible.
