Prescription Drug Abuse Problem

Most people take medicines only as prescribed. However, an estimated 20% of people in the U.S. have used prescription drugs for non-medical reasons. This is prescription drug abuse, and it’s a serious and growing issue.

Easy availability contributes to the problem — from doctors prescribing more medications to online pharmacies offering drugs without prescriptions, even to minors.

Improper Disposal

Flushing medications can harm the environment. Throwing them in the trash doesn’t guarantee that animals or people won’t access them. Safe disposal is essential.

Collection Box

Place medicines in the sea-foam green collection box (it resembles a mailbox). Items will be securely stored until transferred to the DEA for destruction.
