Fire Department ISO Rating

The Zion Fire Rescue Department is independently evaluated and rated by the Insurance Services Organization (ISO). The purpose of this evaluation is to determine the overall capabilities of the Fire Department and it’s impact on fire insurance rates for the property owners in the City of Zion. A class 1 rating is the best and a class 10 rating is the worst. In 2017 ZFRD was audited by ISO, in a months-long process. This audit looks at all aspects of our operations, from response times to dispatch operations, from water supply to training records. As a result of the 2017 audit, our rating improved from a “4” to a “3”. This is a significant achievement, and is the result of hard work throughout the department.
