Early Voting Information
The last day to register to vote is March 7, 2017.
You may register online with a valid Illinois driver’s license or state ID until March 19, 2017 at https://ova.elections.il.gov
Grace period registration is available, March 8th –March 17th at the Lake County Courthouse and Administrative Complex in the County Clerk’s office, 18 N. County St., Room 101, Waukegan, IL 60085. Grace period registration hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. Grace period registration requires two pieces of current ID, both bearing current name and one bearing the current address. Registrants must also vote at the time of registration. Grace period registration on Election Day is only available at Lake County Courthouse and Administrative Complex (lobby) or at a voter’s assigned Election Day voting site. Early Voting at Zion City Hall, 2828 Sheridan Road
March 20-April 1
Monday –Friday- 9 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
Saturday – 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Early Voting and grace period registration is offered at any early voting site regardless of where the voter lives in Lake County.
Election Day – April 4, 2017 Voters will vote at their designated precinct. Polls are open 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Zion City Hall will NOT be a voting site on Election Day.
Political Sign Ordinance
Sec. 70-117. – Political signs.
(a) Political signs will not be displayed on public property.
(b) Public property is defined as parkways, roadways, parks, poles on public property, school property and any property owned by a public entity.
(c) Political signs shall not exceed six square feet in area nor be more than six feet in height per sign. Such signs are not subject to the sign ordinance, except as provided in this section.
(e) Signs violating this section will be removed by the city at a cost of $5.00 per sign, charged to the candidate through their local agent or representative.
(f) The city clerk shall give each candidate promoting or advertising their candidacy within the City of Zion for any public office, a copy of this provision in person or by certified mail.
