The City of Zion’s Emergency Telephone System Board is responsible for arranging for the financing of the City of Zion’s Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System, as well as other duties that may be necessary to assist in the financing of the City’s Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System.
The membership of Zion’s Enhanced 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System Board consists of the Chief of Police, the Chief of the Fire/Rescue department, the Field Director of Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA), and the Director of Finance. The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council, appoints one additional representative from the Police Department, Fire/Rescue Department and one civilian representative.

Provided for by Ordinance 90-O-6 (Mayor and members of the Council) and amended by Ordinance 90-O-64 (Police Chief, Fire Chief, ESDA Director, and two members of the City Council) – Amended by Ordinance 00-O-65 on August 1, 2000 to include one additional representative from both the Police and Fire/Rescue Departments and one civilian. – Amended by Ordinance 15-O-11 on February 17, 2015 to include the Director of Finance and to delete the Commissioner of Public Safety and the Mayor
