I joined the Zion Police Department on April 7, 1984. Throughout the last 29 years, I have held the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief, and currently Chief of Police. I have been assigned to almost every duty available, from Field Training Officer to Investigative Bureau Commander.
In addition to my Police duties, I have been active in the community, as a long time member of both the Zion Jubilee Days & the Zion Nostalgia Days committees.
My basic training came from the Illinois State Police Academy. Advanced training through the Southern Police Institute / command officers development course and the Federal Bureau of Investigation / (FBINA) National Academy.
I have an Associate degree from the College of Lake County in Criminal Justice, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Administration, from Columbia College of Missouri. In 2002 I participated in the Winter Olympic Games as part of a collective security force from around the country.
I have been married to my wife Beverly for 29 years. We are both members of the Community Christian Church of Waukegan. We have three children and six grandchildren. I am an active Ice Hockey player and enjoy snowmobiling. I am honored and humbled to be selected as the City of Zion Chief of Police.
It is a pleasure to work with the outstanding officers and staff of the department. Most importantly, I will continue to work aggressively to earn the trust of the citizens of Zion.
