PET LICENSES NO LONGER REQUIRED

The Zion City Council has eliminated animal licensing, registration and fees.  Pet owners are no longer required to license their pets through the City of Zion. 

The Lake County Health Department still requires pet owners to obtain current rabies tags.  Lake County requires every dog and cat older than four (4) months residing in Lake County to be vaccinated against rabies and registered with the County.  The rabies identification also helps reunite lost pets with their owners. 

The Zion Animal Control Officer will still transport stray animals to Orphans of the Storm.   The Animal Control Officer will continue to enforce City Codes and will assess fines where applicable.  All other animal control codes remain in effect.
