John Brown


John Brown-

John Brown has lived in the Zion area for over 5 years. His desire to see the City of Zion prosper by generating new jobs and encouraging growth in Zion's businesses is what motivates him to be an active participant of the TIF Review Board.

Besides the TIF Review Board, Mr. Brown is also an active member with the Fraternal Order of Police (Illinois), Fraternal Order of Police Illinois State Police, Zion Building Department Advisory Panel and a Master Mason.

Mr. Brown considers his 42 years as a mechanic, encouraging young men and women to dress properly, helping people in the community and talking to men, women, boys and girls about the goodness of God his personal and professional achievements.


Leroy Cliff


Leroy Cliff -


Leroy Cliff is a life long resident of Zion. He serves on the Zion Benton Township High School Board of Education as well as the Zion Benton Athletic Boosters. He is proud of being the only Board of Education member that is still residing in Zion today.

Of Mr. Cliff's many lifetime achievements, he is most proud of being inducted into (4) Athletic Hall of Fames.



Donna Flammini




Donna Flammini -


Donna Flammini has lived in the Zion Community for over 15 years. As a Zion Elementary School District #6 Board Member, her motivation for becoming part of the TIF Review Board is to assure the monies of the taxpayers are spent to benefit the community.
Ms. Flammini is married with 4 children and is also
the owner of Paige Turner Books.

Shantal Taylor

 

 

 


Shantal Taylor

Ms. Shantal Taylor has lived in Zion for over 30 years. She is currently employed as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher with the Lake County Sheriff's Department and has her Bachelors Degree in Business Management & Criminal Justice.

In addition to serving as a TIF Review Board member, Ms. Taylor also lends her time as President of the Shepherds Crossing Neighborhood Watch Program, Vice-President of the Zion-Benton Library Board of Trustees, Peer Counselor with Care Net Pregnancy Center of Zion and is a member of Coalition for Healthy Communities- Sub Committee-Cultural Diversity. As an Active Member and Teacher at Trinity Christian Center in Zion, she hopes her favorite bible scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, will reflect in everything she does. "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

When asked what motivated her to become part of the TIF Review Board, she responded by saying, " I greatly appreciate the opportunity to help make a positive difference in my community in many valuable ways. I believe that Zion has a great future that will supersede it's great past." Ms. Taylor is married and has three children.


Doug Townsend


Doug Townsend

Mr. Doug Townsend has lived in the Zion area for 67 years. He is currently employed at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside in Facilities Management and is
a graduate of ZBTHS and College of Lake County.

He considers his retiring from Outboard Marine Corporation one of his personal/professional achievements. He cites his membership of the Zion-Benton Public Library of Trustees and giving back to the community his motivation for becoming a part of the TIF Review Board.
