Historic Opening Set For Friday In Zion
LAKE COUNTY FIELDERS TO MAKE PROFESSIONAL HOME DEBUT
Zion, IL - Fireworks, $5 tickets, on-field promotions and a post-game concert will be part of an historic night

when the Lake County Fielders, co-owned by actor Kevin Costner, become the first professional baseball team to play in Zion when they make their debut this Friday, July 2, at 4:45 p.m. against the Gary SouthShore Railcats.

Chicago based rock-pop band, the Walk-Ins, will entertain
fans immediately following the game with a live concert sponsored by Miller Lite. A spectacular fireworks show, sponsored by Sports Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists, will take place shortly after the concert.
"The team, the office staff and the community are really excited that the home opener is finally here," said co-owner Rich Ehrenreich. "The groundswell of support has been terrific and we're ready for baseball."

Ehrenreich said that even though the stadium, at Route 173 and Green Bay Rd., isn't completed to the point it will be, everything is in place for fun at the ballpark.
"We'll have food and beverage stands with all the staples - including hot dogs and beer - and much more. It will be baseball in a carnival atmosphere all summer. Great family fun," he said.
