Summer is officially here in Zion this weekend with the 22nd Annual Nostalgia Days festival and the return of the Farmer’s Market. Nostalgia Days opens Thursday with Rainbow Valley Rides Carnival next to the band shell on 25th Street with all you can ride tickets from 4-9. The Zion Park District’s free Concerts in the Park series begins on Thursday night as well with a free movie following the performance.
Thursday is also opening day of the Farmer’s Market that will return to the 25th and Sheridan Road boulevard. More than 25 vendors have committed to this season offering everything from organic fruits and vegetables to jams, jewelry, kettlecorn and ribs! Every Thursday from 2-7 through October 1st you will find variety, great value and fun since each week will host a different theme with games, coupons and prizes.
Opening week is teamed with Nostalgia Days so the theme is Nifty Fifties. Look for great music and a family friendly trivia contest. Be sure to check out all the deals and then catch the Trolley to the carnival!
Friday night the fun continues with a live DJ and Dance party at the dome along with a free ‘drive-in movie’ featuring Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The carnival will continue until 10pm and if you’ve not registered your show car you’ll have a chance right at the dome.
Saturday is the big day with classic car show competition and cruize along Sheridan Road. Live broadcast, music, food, crafters, performers, raffles and even a Ford vs Chevy Tug-o-War contest at the stage! For a complete schedule of events please visit www.nostalgiadays.com
