Ding! Ding!  The Beeline Trolley Returns!

The Zion Beeline TrolleySummer must ‘bee’ right around the corner because the City of Zion’s Beeline Trolley has returned!  Making its merry journey from the Illinois Beach Resort and Campgrounds through Zion’s historic business district all the way to Winthrop Harbor’s Northpointe Marina, the trolley offers a nostalgic open air tour of the area for visitors and residents alike.

The Beeline is a free service designed to encourage folks in the area to enjoy their community more fully.  Hope aboard and take a trip to the Port Shiloh Waterpark or catch a round of golf with your friends at Shiloh Park.  Catch up on your reading with a visit to the Zion Benton Public Library or take in a movie at the Dunes, the most cost effective entertainment option on the north shore! Trollyopoly Game

Enjoy a day at the beach and catch a lift to one of the city’s cafés or shops as the Beeline offers thirty stops along the route.  We invite young and young at heart to celebrate all the area has to offer from parks and natural beauty to commerce and convenience.  The Beeline operates from May into October, Wednesdays through Sundays, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

While you’re riding the Beeline don’t miss out on playing Trolleyopoly!  Each month will reward a player with a $50 Visa gift card with a special prize in July courtesy of First Class Press in Zion.  Look for entry forms at all of our participating businesses along the route.

TTrooley maphe dedicated trolley drivers thoroughly enjoy their work and will be happy to answer questions on local history, specific stops along the route or maybe a joke or two.  Local businesses are invited to limited advertising spaces inside the trolley and you will see the 2007 maps include highlighted businesses that welcome your visit.

For more information regarding the Beeline Route or the Schedule, please visit www.cityofzion.com or pick up a free map at participating businesses or Zion City Hall.
