Cabin Fever Yet?

Predictions of heavy snow, below zero winds and spring still months away, but Zion has plenty to keep the winter blues at bay!

Consider keeping that New Year's resolution by taking one of the many classes or team sports offered through the Zion Park District. With the beautiful renovation of the Leisure Center on Dowie Circle there's something there for everyone. Call 847-746-5500 for a schedule or visit www.zionparkdistrict.com.

After your workout why not consider a great meal at any of our local restaurants? El Lago, Applebee’s, Starlite, N&T, Cake Box, Bee Street, Whey Chai, It’s All Good, Lung Fung, Bill’s Custard, Chuck’s Dog House, Green Tomato, Salsa Bravo or consider a meal on the go from Culver’s, Subway, Wendy’s, KFC, Burger King, Taco Bell, Chang Jiang’s, Shirl’s, Dairy Queen, Domino’s, Pizza House, Tony’s or McDonald’s…whew!

Take in the natural beauty all around us in the wintertime by snowmobiling, hiking or walk downtown for shopping bargains all over town. Consider getting tickets to the annual Chamber Installation Dinner coming up on January 30th. With its Fielders’ theme you’ll be thinking about spring in no time! All the details are available at www.zionchamber.com. February offers the King of Hearts Dance, a father/daughter event to remember for a lifetime. Details available again through your Zion Park District.

March brings the St. Patrick’s Day Gold Tournament, annual Easter Egg Hunt and the excitement of the Sweetheart Ball that raises funds to help cancer patients and their families while visiting the medical campus of Midwestern Regional Medical Center. For tickets or to make a donation please contact the hospital at (847) 874-4561.

There are theatrical performances and sporting events offered through the local schools and the Zion Benton News highlights other opportunities to get out and about such as craft shows, live music, clubs and church gatherings. Don’t let the winter blahs keep you from enjoying all your hometown has to offer. Come on out and rediscover why Zion is the place to ‘bee’ for all seasons!
